In our Employee Spotlight this month, we want to recognize and celebrate one of our own who embodies the qualities we value most: Sree Reddy Damidi.
Sree has been an essential member of our team for the past 4 and a half years, consistently demonstrating his exceptional knowledge and expertise in the Information Technology space. He is known for his approachable personality and willingness to help with even the smallest and silliest tech questions. He always answers with a smile on his face, making sure everyone feels heard and valued. His vast knowledge and experience in tech ensure that we are always up to date with the latest advancements in the field. Sree’s contributions help us stay ahead of the curve and remain competitive in the industry. He focuses on protecting us and our business digitally, the equivalent of a virtual hard hat.
At RSR we know that our team members are the backbone of our success, and we are incredibly fortunate to have Sree as part of our team. - What has been your experience with our company? Years of work? Different positions?
As the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun; it has already been four and half years that I have been with the company and looking forward to many more. The last couple of years have been a blast and I have been able to challenge myself with the dynamic nature of the industry and its requirements to align towards success as a team. I started out as an IT support advisor and now directing the IT strategy of the company while ensuring change management is optimal for all stakeholders.
- How is your team?
When starting out in a new country, the whole experience can be nerve-wracking, but I was lucky to have the RSR team to make me feel welcome and made it easy for me to fit in. Everyone here is approachable and ready to help even with their busy schedules. I can work from home but chose to work in the office to ensure I get my daily dose of RSR personnel interactions.
- What improvements have you seen within yourself after joining RSR?
Since I joined RSR, I have become more sensitive to waste management. I am more aware of the materials I buy personally. For instance, I have never thought much about packaging earlier, that is, a popcorn bag made of plastic or aluminum. Now, I try to make more purchases with Aluminum packaging than before as I know I am in the metal recycling business and can recycle it easily and do my part for the environment while enjoying a good movie night with popcorn 😊.
- Who do you think is your biggest inspiration in our company?
The RSR operations team is my biggest inspiration, they are here in the office before everyone and handle and execute several different tasks safely and effectively in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment.
- How have you grown professionally after joining our team?
I have been able to get my efficiency to the next level ever since I joined RSR. Having come from a large team where I could delegate a lot of the work to area experts, I have become efficient in handling several projects with limited resources and tight deadlines while delivering optimal results.
- What resources and benefits do you like within the company?
The resources and benefits that resonate with me are the flexibility of the work hours that can be arranged with your manager, the flexibility to work remotely/hybrid for those that can execute their job functions remotely, and finally, the availability of the professional development options for RSR employees to enhance one’s skill set alongside their career.
